Who it is for
People who already use Claude for quick questions and want a dependable method for bigger pieces of work. Suits managers, analysts, advisers, project staff and anyone who produces reports.
The half-day shows people what is possible. This day is about finishing things. Each person brings a real job that is already on their list, such as a board paper, a tender response, a review of a supplier agreement, or a quarterly summary, and takes it from source material to a checked draft.
We spend the morning on inputs: Research for questions that need several searches, long documents that need careful reading, and Projects built so the next person can pick them up. The afternoon moves to outputs. Artifacts, files created by Claude, the Microsoft 365 add-ins where you have them, and Cowork for multi-step tasks in a folder on your own computer.
Claude features change often, so we check the current plan pages and the Claude Help Centre the week before each booking and adjust the exercises to what your accounts can actually do.
Before you start: A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), because Research, Cowork and larger Projects need one. The foundations workshop helps but is not required. Cowork exercises need the Claude desktop app on macOS or Windows.
What we cover
- Research with citations you can checkResearch runs several searches that build on each other and returns an answer with citations. Paid plans only, with web search turned on. We practise reading the citations, not just the summary.
- Long documents, read properlyCompare two versions of a contract or policy, pull every obligation into a table, and ask what changed between drafts. When a chat gets very long, Claude summarises earlier messages to make room, so we show how to keep key facts pinned in the Project.
- Projects that lastDecide what belongs in project knowledge, write instructions another person can read, and name files so they make sense later. On Team plans, share the Project with view or edit access.
- From answer to finished fileAsk Claude to create a Word document, a spreadsheet or a slide deck, or build an artifact the team can reuse. Check layout, numbers and wording before anything leaves the building.
- Cowork for multi-step tasksGive Claude a working folder in the desktop app and a task with several steps, such as sorting a pile of PDFs into a summary spreadsheet. Watch the plan, steer it partway, and review the files it saves.
- Your own checking routineEach person writes a short checklist for their kind of work: facts to verify, names and figures to confirm, and who signs off. We test it on the draft from the morning.
We adjust the content to your team, and use your own documents and tasks for the exercises.

Questions about this course
How is this different from the foundations workshop?
The foundations session covers the basics on short tasks. This day stays with one substantial job per person and adds Research, Cowork and file creation. If nobody in the group has used Projects before, start with the half-day.
Is Cowork safe to use on work files?
Cowork reads and writes only in the folder you give it, and you can pause or steer a task at any point. Anthropic's guidance describes permission modes that control how much it does without asking. We start people in a test folder and keep sensitive files out of the exercise.
Can we split the day into two sessions?
Yes. Two half-days a week apart work well. People have time between sessions to try the method on their own work and bring back questions.
