Professional services in West Coast
Professional work often stalls between a client's rough notes and the firm's finished report. A useful exercise asks Claude to organise the material, flag missing evidence and show where each statement came from. The responsible adviser then checks the reasoning and decides what the client should receive.
Our West Coast sessions fit accounting, consulting, property and technical service teams. TheColab can teach in your own office, using a fictional matter or documents approved for training. Claude Projects support common instructions and uploaded reference material; separate matters need access choices that reflect the practice's boundaries.4
Paid employees in professional services went from 1,188 in February 2020 to 1,164 in February 2025 (−2.0%).

Local context
- Cuffs lists farming, tourism and trade among its key industries. Those client settings support distinct generic exercises: a farm reporting narrative, a visitor-business briefing or a contractor's scope note. Cuffs' listing supplies local context and does not establish that the practice uses Claude.11
- Westport's EPIC campus offers digital development, coaching and training. This local capability channel makes a checked software prototype relevant for a technical team, while leaving adoption and any relationship with named businesses unclaimed.22
Organisations are named for local context only. No relationship with them is implied.

Where Claude helps professional services teams
Draft an evidence-led report
Place a report outline and approved definitions in a Project. Add a fictional client's notes and ask Claude for a draft that identifies unsupported conclusions. Project knowledge supplies the context. A practitioner compares the narrative with the underlying working papers before it becomes part of the engagement record.4
- Accountant or consultant
- Projects with knowledge files
Compare a long agreement
Provide labelled agreement versions and request a table of changed wording, linked passages and questions for the reviewer. Claude can work from uploaded project documents, but it can miss an exception. Inspect the whole relevant clause before accepting a summary or sending an interpretation to the client.4
- Matter reviewer
- Long documents in Projects
Make review status visible
Ask for an artifact showing a generic evidence checklist with draft, checked and unresolved items. The editable display lets the team discuss its review process without exposing a live client file. Test whether a new colleague can tell which statements still require a professional decision.5
- Practice manager
- Artifacts for review checklists
Prototype a file-checking utility
A developer can use Claude Code in an isolated repository to build a small utility that checks fictional report exports for missing headings. Claude Code can read code, edit files and run commands. Review the changes and test sample failures before considering any connection to practice systems.6

Prepare a client interview
Give Claude an approved engagement scope and a made-up client's incomplete brief. Request questions grouped by missing evidence, assumptions and decisions. Project instructions can shape the output. The adviser removes leading questions and checks that the list stays within the agreed work.4

- Project instructions
Build a report with an evidence trail
- Choose an invented engagement with a clear report purpose and audience.
- Label each reference file by topic, status and version before uploading it.
- Ask for a draft with passage references and an explicit unresolved-evidence list.
- Challenge the draft's strongest conclusion using the original working material.
- Record the adviser's corrections and retain the reviewed report in the approved practice system.

Professional services in West Coast: questions
Does everyone need to learn Claude Code?
Document reviewers can work with Projects and artifacts. Reserve the coding exercise for staff who can inspect a repository and test a change; the office team can still help define what the utility should check.
Can we share practice instructions across matters?
Use a neutral writing guide without client detail. Project sharing on Team and Enterprise depends on organisation controls. Review visibility and membership whenever a matter contains information with a narrower audience.4
What makes a document summary useful?
It shows the passage behind an important point and keeps unanswered questions visible. Ask the reviewer to check exceptions and definitions, rather than approving a summary because its language sounds confident.
Can a partner attend with administrators?
That is useful for testing the complete drafting path. Administrators prepare the inputs, while the partner shows how a professional review changes the draft. We can then agree which recurring tasks deserve a controlled pilot.
